There could well be a stampede for usernames that are currently blocked on Twitter. Even though there’s no finalized date for such an occurrence, The Next Web says Twitter is planning to recycle and release usernames that have been deleted by previous owners or those that remain dormant to the public. Twitter policy forces usernames that have not been updated for six months into an inactive account, and up to now those idle usernames have remained dormant and unavailable to others. According to the Next Web, this huge pile of inactive accounts will be released soon. We’ll keep our keen Internet eyes peeled for any official word on when this rat race might kick off.
