As a responsible member of the Caribbean Community and ultimately the world community, with long lasting relationships with many high profile companies, we believe the long-term future of our business is best served by respecting the interests of all our stakeholders: Employees, Customers, Contractors, Suppliers and the wider community. We look actively for opportunities to reduce our impact on the environment and to contribute to the wellbeing of those in communities less fortunate than ourselves. Our CSR policy sets out the principles we follow and the projects we have undertaken to support our CSR ethos.
In our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility we aim to align our business values, purpose and strategy with the social and economic needs of our stakeholders, whilst embedding responsible and ethical business policies and practices into everything we do.
Panmedia is committed to the following CSR principles:
· We manage our business with pride and integrity.
· We are committed to full legal compliance in all that we do.
· We aim to provide a safe, fulfilling and rewarding career for all our employees.
· We actively assess and manage the environmental impacts of all our operations.
· We will continually benchmark and evaluate what we do in order to improve our CSR performance.
We all Share Responsibility
Social and environmental responsibility involves everyone. We aim to develop and implement a social ethos and environmental policies that complements our employees everyday activities and responsibilities.
Honesty and Integrity
Real improvements can only be made by sharing resources, knowledge and power. We communicate our environmental policies, objectives and performance openly and honestly with our employees and to others with an interest in our activities, including clients, suppliers and contractors. We will encourage them to communicate with us and will seek their views.
Sustainable Progress
We are committed to continually improving our efficiency and performance. We will take into account technical developments, changing scientific evidence, costs and client concerns and expectations in developing and implementing all new staff and environmental policies and procedures. We monitor our performance, set objectives for improvements and regularly share our progress.
Demonstrable Compliance
At a minimum, we will meet or exceed all relevant legislation. Where no legislation exists we will seek to develop and implement our own appropriate standards.
Environment
We will take all reasonable steps to manage our operations so as to minimise our environmental impact and footprint, and to promote good environmental practice. We will review regularly our business practices and performance to identify how we can improve our energy efficiency and reduce water usage and waste disposal.
Currently, we only use paper when it is extremely necessary and our waste paper is passed off to be recycled.
Relationships
We will conduct our business relationships with integrity and courtesy, and honour our trading commitments. Our aim is to build long-term relationships with our clients and contractors. We are committed to conducting business fairly with all our clients and contractors, and will communicate our responsible sourcing expectations to them in security, health & worker well-being and good environmental practice.
Our relations with our contractors are well documented and benefit from a well-defined compliance / pre-qualification process. We see continuous communication as key to ensuring that our common goals are met.
Charitable giving
We will build relationships with charitable organisations and local community initiatives where appropriate. Our aim is to unite our efforts as a business with the involvement of all staff behind common goals.
Panmedia supports the Edna Manley School of Visual and Performing arts, Liberty Hall, the Caribbean Child Development Centre and Grace Baptist Church (Maypen), usually with the provision of computers and other office equipment.
We support charity events sponsored by GraceKennedy, Sigma, Digicel, Jamaica Broilers and the Gleaner by participating in their annual 5K Run/Walk. In addition, we often buy tickets for some events being held as charitable causes.
Employees
We will respect our employees and encourage their development and training. We will promote equality as differences in responsibilities permit and consider the interests of our employees including their welfare, health and safety. We aim to empower our employees and we will recognise individual contributions and reward them fairly. Our ultimate aim is the happiness of all employees through their worthwhile and satisfying employment in a successful business.
Employees contribute by ensuring that all PC’s and A/C units are turned off overnight and by using as little paper as possible.
