In celebration of Jamaica 50, the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica and the Gleaner are paying homage to young business leaders shaping the nation’s future with the 50UnderFifty Awards.

The awards will recognize 50 innovators and business leaders under the age of 50 who are expected to make a significant impact on Jamaica’s civic and business landscape and will serve as role models for the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Supporting this worthy initiative and to help get the word out, Panmedia designed and developed the 50UnderFifty web site where all nominations must be made by June 15. The site walks visitors through the nomination process, and includes information on eligibility, the judges, sponsors and a Gala Awards Dinner scheduled for November 29 where the keynote speaker will be Dr. Freeman Hrabowski, President of the University of Maryland Baltimore County and one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential Leaders 2012.

“We are pleased to be partnering with the PSOJ and the Gleaner on such as important initiative,” says Panmedia’s Tech Lead Howard Henry. “As technology developers we appreciate the role of innovation in economic growth.”

Panmedia’s CEO Knolly Moses believes this kind of acknowledgement of young entrepreneurs will spur competitiveness and excellence among the nominated and inspire others to explore their own potential. “Their role in driving growth and prosperity should never be underestimated or remain obscure,” he says.

The 50UnderFifty site was developed on the Drupal platform to enhance user interaction and allows visitors to easily nominate candidates and submit entries. It also features an attractive home page JavaScript image slider for promotional messages and a media section to post pertinent material for journalists.
