The Jamaican Foundation for Lifelong Learning officially changed its name from JAMAL foundation, and was set to launch its re-branding campaign in late February. Less than two weeks before the launch, Panmedia was brought in to handle the public relations. We quickly devised a plan to attract media coverage on short notice, and to communicate to the public the institution’s name change, and its new mandate.
A packed week of activities – Thanksgiving service, brunch at Terra Nova, two Awards Luncheon, unveiling a new sign by Minister of Education the Honourable Maxine Henry-Wilson, panel discussion on life long learning – forced Panmedia to work closely with the institution’s internal resources.
Executive Director Elaine Ferguson and Jacqueline Martinez briefed a Panmedia team and everything went into gear. There has been television coverage on both stations, and interviews are scheduled with the print media. The awards luncheons are scheduled for all parishes and will help to sensitize stakeholders about the re-branding exercise.
Panmedia plans to continue working with JFLL in its transition period as the institution continues to educate and empower Jamaicans. Photo Gallery
