As intrepid as ever, Wayne Bowen ventured last week into Guyana’s interior and brought back fascinating tales of life up river. Traveling for six hours, both overland and on the Esequibo and Pomeroon rivers, he visited the Arawak village on Santa Rosa Island.

Wayne has worked with Panmedia as a writer and content provider for portals we have done, and as videographer and editor on a documentary for Fiscal Services Ltd. These days he moves around the Caribbean working on documentaries and commercials. He sent us an email account of his time there.

Often, something happens in Jamaica that catches our attention. Usually it’s an event we note with pride or an action we acknowledge for innovation or daring. We talk about such things sometimes at our morning meetings or over lunch. Then they are quickly forgotten as we focus on work or get distracted with other issues.

Recently, we considered a way to record or honour such moments, individuals  or companies. Just a chance to say “brilliant.” We want to pay such tributes online, where our engagement with the world begins.
