Uber’s January 15 launch in Trinidad & Tobago has had a bit of a rocky start, and we have to wonder if we will face similar issues when the transportation app lands in Jamaica. Uber staff took a “workation” in Runaway Bay last December to develop their goals for 2017. The twitter account @Uber_Jamaica has been claimed since September 2016.
Since 2011, Scotiabank has been helping small and medium-sized businesses in Jamaica to grow. They offer business coaching to select clients, and in 2015 opened up that opportunity and provided more resources by creating the Scotiabank Vision Achiever. 2017 may all be about embracing Margaritaville Mobay! The slides, floating trampolines and fetes at the Hip Strip’s hottest spot, seduced our team recently when we crossed the island for a site visit.
We tried the world famous Signature Cocktails and explored their most eclectic menu (and discussed strategy, of course). Since then, we’ve been having a great time inventing engaging ways for everyone to feel the Margaritaville magic. Tourists do, btw. So when the last ship leaves port we will entice locals to come do their thing. And that can be very exciting in a town like Mobay.
