Google is always full of surprises. Their latest new thingy is a useful tool for all of us. Place Pages for Google Maps, is a webpage for every place in the world,  according to Google’s blog. It organizes all the relevant information about every place, and by every place, we really mean *every* place. There are Place Pages for businesses, points of interest, transit stations, neighborhoods, landmarks and cities all over the world.

Essentially, you search for any place in the world on Google maps, and Place Pages opens up with a list where you can select More Info which will then takes you to information on that place with photos, web links and reviews. It also shows the location on Google maps.

Its like their blog says: “you’ll be finding all the information about any place…in one place.”

Google’s Place Pages also creates some competition of sorts for online reviews sites such as the recently launched Panmedia Network site yuhrate. But the way we see it all global is local. Besides, competition is always good. So we say welcome Google’s Place Pages. There is enough room.
