We’re always excited to learn new things at Panmedia, so we were pleased when the UWI Open Campus asked us to help raise its social media presence.
It meant scouring the region for timely and relevant content, and seeking to understand what motivates those who want to advance their education by any means. We certainly had to widen our research parameters and take a regional look at what OC delivers in coursework and opportunities.
Since April 12, we have been posting on various social media platforms used by Open Campus, getting favourable engagement on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We also created a LinkedIn profile to build out OC’s presence, and a new YouTube channel to expand the limited content that was previously posted.
Open Campus creates useful options for those who want to study with the UWI but have obligations, like children and or work that make day school all but impossible. It offers such strivers distance, online and blended learning so they can upgrade their education and professional development. Students can choose from undergrad, graduate or continuing and professional education programmes. Scholarships are also available.
In maintaining OC’s social media presence, Panmedia is targeting engagement with guild members and alumni to foster and encourage a lively online community of current and past students. The social media activity is designed to keep them motivated and encourage prospective students to see how Open Campus can change their lives.
