Pushing Cricket on Twitter
1. This is definitely a first! The Limacol Caribbean Premier League has launched a petition on Twitter imploring Caribbean governments and employers to let staff finish work early to enjoy cricket. Using the hashtag #GetMeToTheGame, the twitition is asking cricket fans to enjoy what’s being called the biggest party in sport.
Limacol CPL says they are using Twitter to help build cricket audiences in Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago. Aah..cricket, lovely cricket!
Branding words
2. It’s no secret! Reading is not the norm on social media. With this in mind many companies are now ‘branding text’ in an image that makes it more visible to users and more likely to get some interaction. It’s trendy, but word is still out on its effectiveness.
3. We’re not in it but Jamaicans got the #WorldCup #Brazil2013 FIFA fever like everywhere else in the world. Posts, games and even savings off luxury vehicles are being based on matches!
Brand-alliance on social media!
4. The trend seems steady…companies including other brands in their social media content either by regular posts/photos and/or for promotional reasons.
Need all the inspiration we can get!
5. #WiseWords #Quotes #Inspiration are a given on many pages. They get the likes, comments and shares and, apparently, can never be enough. We’re not complaining about motivating words. We’re just pointing out that more people seem to need them than we would have guessed.
