Drupal, the platform that Panmedia uses for our client sites, has for the second year in a row won the Best Open Source PHP CMS Category in the 2009 Open Source CMS Award. Drupal also won the best overall open source CMS in 2007 and 2008.
The Content Management System won in a very close contest between the top three, Drupal, WordPress, and Joomla! in which Drupal ended up as the overall choice for the judges and the public.
Panmedia has used Drupal as a Content Management System and an application framework for six years. It is an open source platform used by companies such as FedEx, Sony BMG and the United States Government. We chose it as the best open source platform for its scalability and flexibility.
Earlier this year A short video on Drupal won six Telly Awards. The video, "What is Drupal?", is a multi-media style introduction to Drupal that is only one minute long. Produced by pingVision, the video was produced on an Apple Mac Pro using Final Cut Studio, with motion graphics and compositing created in Apple’s Motion.
According to its website, the Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions and work created for the web.
