Visual art abounds in Jamaica, but getting exhibition details isn’t always easy. Many shows aren’t advertised and media art coverage is poor. Given the popularity of our business events site, we decided to add to the Panmedia Network a site that offers current information on art events in Jamaica.
Arteventsja.com makes everyone an insider in the local art scene, giving visitors the Who, What, Where and When. The events are presented in dated order, listing time, and duration, artist, venue, and contact number, as well as photos of some of the featured works.
Apart from current exhibitions, the site documents cooperative art projects, workshops, seminars and festivals. There is also content on Jamaica’s noted masters. A Google Map lets you quickly pinpoint the location of any art event listed on the site.
Arteventsja.com is a useful information resource, featuring art news feed, alphabetized artist features, a gallery directory, artist website links, and an art blog section. Visitors may also suggest links to their favourite blogs and websites and have them added to the directory!
Missed a show you really wanted to see? No problem. Arteventsja.com lets you view select images and videos from past events. You can also sign up for email updates on the site on our its Facebook page.
