Last week the PNP and JLP took their party politics online. PNP’s Dayton Campbell claims that the slogan used by the JLP, “Poverty To Prosperity” was originally his, while the JLP claims it was actually used by former Prime Minister, Bruce Golding in 2011.
The squabble led to what Nationwide News dubbed #DomainGate, with the PNP buying www.frompovertytoprosperity.com (a bright orange banner showcases the slogan). Then the JLP got www.portiasimpsonmiller.com, www.stepuptoprogress.com, as well as www.stepuptheprogress.com – all redirecting users to the JLP's website.
Many Jamaicans found the whole debacle rather humorous, but others saw it as petty and voiced their views under an Observer article:
