Scotia Investments discovered the power and influence of interactivity at its last webinar (Tax Reform & Economic Growth) earlier this month. When moderator Adrian Stokes, Vice President Strategic Planning and Projects, announced that the next webinar was scheduled for September he got some push back from Facebook viewers. Many said they thought that was too long to wait for another event.
Scotia Investments esponded quickly, creating a contest titled Name the Webinar, asking Facebook and Twitter users to come up with a title for the next webinar now planned to take place in the next several weeks.
The contest got 226 entries, with 178 from Facebook and 48 from Twitter. The winning topic will be selected by the Scotia Investments team based on the following criteria – thought provoking, originality and relevance.
The luck person who suggests the winning topic will get to choose between a BlackBerry or iPad for a prize.
The Scotia Investments webinar series offers viewers sharp insights and opinions from both internal experts and other professionals in various areas of the financial industry. Viewers are also able interact with panelists by posting questions via a Facebook connection on the webinar page. The last two webinars have had strong engagement from those who logged in to the webcasts. Panmedia monitors the Facebook input into the webinars and administered the Name the Webinar contest.
