Panmedia is developing a website for the Visual & Performing Arts of Jamaica to market the group’s creative output, skills and resources, and as a central repository of relevant information on Jamaica’s creative industries. The website will have a powerful searchable database, facilitate e-commerce and offer networking between VPAJ’s members.
The database will be a central feature of the site, and will include members’ contact details, biographies, professional achievements and audio/visual examples of their creative work. Some information will be accessible by members only.
The information on the site will be broken down by creative sub-clusters: dance, film/television, theatre, visual arts and authors and publishers.
Panmedia is collaborating with VPAJ’s website and database work group whose members are: Tony Henry, Katrine Smith, Urel Livingston and Dwayne Williams. The facilitator for VPAJ is Trevor Fearon.
VPAJ is a grouping of individuals, small firms and partner organizations active in the creative industries. It was established within the framework of the Private Sector Development Programme, a European Union funded initiative to enhance socio-economic development in Jamaica by strengthening its private sector.
