For many of us, a new year means life-changing resolutions. For some it’s about starting over and being a better person. For others, it’s about lifestyle or being more family-oriented. Here are my top 4 techniques for achieving the goals and ambitions of my New Year’s resolutions.
- Be Realistic
When creating resolutions be narrowly realistic. You know what you can handle, so create your goals for you. Aspiring is fine, but ensure you are able to achieve each goal.
- Be Specific
Make a detailed plan of how you will achieve your goals. Saying you want to eat healthier is not specific. But designing daily menus and sticking to them will get you on the right track.
- Persevere
In the words of Julie Andrews: “Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding on the 20th”. Continue to work towards your goals even when you encounter difficult challenges.
- Convince Yourself
Do not doubt your ability to accomplish what you set out to do. Tell yourself on a daily basis that you can do it and work diligently to achieving your goals.
